Foxconn: iPhone 5 Supply Cannot Match Demand

Foxconn
Technology Group, the manufacturing company of Apple’s many devices, admitted that they cannot make enough iPhone 5 units due to “the complex manufacturing process employed” to make them.

The iPhone 5 has become so popular, Foxconn said that meeting the demand is a challenge.

Speaking in a business forum, Foxconn Chairman Terry Gou told reporters that the difficulty in making iPhones is a major hurdle. “It’s not easy to make the iPhones. We are falling short of meeting the huge demand,” Gou told Reuters.

Gou did not give any comment on reports suggesting the company’s Foxconn International Holdings division helped with manufacturing more iPhone 5’s to keep up with demand.

Apple has sold 5 million iPhone 5 handsets just three days after its September 21st launch.
