Trying to predict the next big thing when it comes to new devices can be a challenge. No matter how interesting and unique a new device may be, it is not always a given that this new idea may take off. Just take for example the market for smart glasses. Although quite an interesting concept, it is quite a puzzle why it hasn’t become a popular gadget even among the gadget-savvy crowd. But still, some early entrants in the market like Epson are having high hopes that these devices may eventually catch on. They recently announced a new smart glass in the form of the new Epson Moverio BT-300.
The Epson Moverio BT-300 smart glasses is an improvement over the previous Epson Moverio smart glass from a few years back. Yes, that is how slow the progress in the smart glass market can be. The new Epson Moverio BT-300 comes with a new OLED display that truly provides transparent mobile augmented reality experiences to its users.
According to Epson, the new Moverio BT-300 Smart Glasses is their lightest see through smart glasses to date which is 20 percent lighter than the previous model. It is also more powerful with a quad core Intel Atom X5processor with Android 5.1 Lollipop, which allows the smart glasses to render complex 3D images into the display.
The new Epson Moverio BT-300 smart glasses also comes with an upgraded 5MP camera that features on-board sensors to allow the device to accurately determine the location of object in the real world. This allows the smart glasses to seamlessly blend digital content to the natural environment around the user. The new Epson Moverio BT-300 is now available for pre-orders at their website, although pricing details have yet to be announced.
