Let’s be honest. Flatbed scanners take a bulk of desk space and, unless you are serious with documenting every file at hand, we don’t use it that much.
Portable scanners has made it easy to scan important documents without the need to shove away your photo frames in the work desk. The Doxie Flip, meanwhile, has made it even better. This wireless, battery-powered scanning device not only has the capability of a flatbed scanner, it can also scan non-document items like notebooks, coins, books, and photo albums among others. It can even take on bigger files by scanning them by sections and let its Autostich feature, which will be available as a free update in December, piece the scans together seamlessly.
Why is it called the Flip? It is because this portable scanner works both ways. You can use it like the traditional flatbed. Turn it around and you can flip bigger items like newspapers and large books.
Consumers who have used previous Doxie scanners would be delighted to know the Doxie Flip works on the same software as previous models. The scans can be easily uploaded to Evernote and Dropbox. It is now available online for $149, with free limited-edition notebooks by Field Notes.
