It is so hard to pass on a workstation with pro-level performance for the fraction of the price of actual pro notebooks. The Dell Precision M2800 is a 15-inch notebook with your choice of Core i5 and i7 processors, 2GB AMD FirePro W4170M GPU, up to 16GB of built-in memory, and up to 1TB of storage. With all those high-end specs, price starts at a measly $1,199.
At that low price, some features needed to be sacrificed. For one, its base screen resolution is on the low side at 1366 x 768. While you can upgrade it to 1080p quality, opting for a better screen would only amp up the price and by that time you should’ve bought similar pro notebooks with hi-res screens. If a low-res screen is a deal breaker, you can choose the Dell Precision M4800, which can be configured with a 3200 x 1800 screen at twice the price.
The Dell Precision M2800 will be available this spring.
