Dell Mini 3i Seen in China

Dell Mini 3i cellphone in China

It has long been rumored around the tech-ville and now it has been confirmed:  Dell has introduced its first cellphone… in China, that is.

Using discreet spy photography, the people over at managed to snap photos of the Dell Mini 3i that was on display somewhere in China and avoided possible prosecution for exposing this little secret to the world.  The Dell Mini 3i smartphone runs on Android-based Open Mobile System (OMS) with a 3.5-inch screen and 360 x 640 resolution.  It also comes with a 3-megapixel camera, a microSD slot, Bluetooth connectivity, and a 950mAh battery.  Apparently, the Dell Mini 3i joins China Mobile in introducing the company’s new Application Platform that lets you browse and download music, videos, and tons of applications to your mobile phone.

There are some snags, however, as the Mini 3i does not have WiFi capability (or what they refer in China as WAPI) and even 3G.  It is unsure when Dell would bring the Mini 3i smartphone outside China, or whether they would even bother beefing up their specs further.
