BlackBerry Z10 Sales in Canada and UK Break Personal Records

BlackBerry has launched its new Z10 smartphone in Canada and United Kingdom and so far its sales have been impressive. In an e-mailed statement, CEO Thorsten Heins said that his company’s sales in Canada, which kicked off just this week, were up by over 50 percent from any of BlackBerry’s previous models.

Meanwhile, UK sales of the BlackBerry Z10 are just as encouraging, selling almost three times better than any of its previous devices in the first week of retail.

The Z10 is part of BlackBerry‘s new smartphones that run on its new BB10 operating system. The other device, the keyboard-equipped Q10, was also released in the two countries.

Heins may want to capitalize on these positive sales numbers, not to mention the glowing reviews, to release the BlackBerry Q10 and Z10 in the United States at an earlier date. Waiting for March (or April in the case of Q10) to arrive can be pretty restless.
