Mike Lazaridis, CEO of RIM (the makers behind BlackBerry), has just announced during an analyst call that the company’s next venture called BlackBerry 6 is set to become available during the third quarter of 2010.
This mobile OS will succeed its old OS 5.0 and will cater to both touch phones and non-touch devices. Meanwhile, its all-new WebKit-based browser is said to be included in the BlackBerry 6, pointing out that rendering engine will have implications throughout the platform and the apps that run on it.
Engadget boldly predicts that the upcoming BlackBerry 6 will become available to most devices previously-powered by OS 5.0.
