The smartphone has evolved greatly over the years. No longer is it just a communications device, it has progressed into quite a multi-functional tool in daily life. And the smartphone continues to evolve as more and more people find ways to harness the power of new technology. With the launch of the Asus ROG Phone 2, it has become a gaming device at the highest degree.
The Asus ROG Phone 2 may be a crazier follow-up to the first Asus ROG Phone. It has taken the lessons learned from building its predecessor to come up with an even better performance-based gaming phone. First off, it comes with the new Snapdragon 855 Plus processor that clocks from 2.84Ghz to 2.96Ghzfor even better gaming performance and responsiveness. Not only that, it also comes with an Adreno 640 GPU that provides better performance for games with higher frame rates and complex graphics. The Asus ROG Phone 2 also comes with a 12GB RAM, quite incredible for a phone its size. But since it is a gaming phone, then its more than just acceptable.
The Asus ROG Phone 2 also comes with a 512GB internal storage and sports a very efficient GameCool II cooling system that dissipates the heat that comes with using graphics-heavy games on a phone. If that is not enough, there is also the ROG AeroActive Cooler II add-on to provide even better cooling for places with warmer climates.
The new Asus ROG Phone 2 also comes with a 6,000 mAh battery for hours and hours of playtime. Its 6.59-inch 120Hz AMOLED touch screen display is ideal for showing HDR videos and games. A dual DTS:X Ultra speakers complement gaming with excellent audio. The Asus ROG Phone 2 is open for pre-orders, although current demand seem to outpace expected supply, which is surprising for what most consider as a phone for the niche gaming market. It is expected to cost around the same with the previous ROG phone. But the price may certainly go up considering that the demand for it is increasing.
