Apple introduced two new MacBook Pro laptop models yesterday, both featuring strong processors and graphics chipsets.
The laptops also feature Thunderbolt slots, a new data-transfer technology developed by Intel Corp. Thunderbolt enables users to transfer data, including video clips, at high speeds and eliminates the restrictions found in copper wires.
Intel, the world’s largest chip maker, claims the technology can transfer a full-length Blu-ray movie in less the 30 seconds and digital contents found in Library of Congress within 35 minutes.
The hardware specs include new processors from Intel and graphic cards from Advanced Micro Devices Inc., replacing chips by Nvidia Corp. seen on previous models.
Prices of the two Macbooks will start at US$1,199 for the 13-inch model and $2,499 for the 17-inch version.
