Apple’s cheap iPhone has now gone even cheaper as the company releases an iPhone 5C with only 8GB in storage memory. Before the release, the plastic-encased smartphone from Apple is available in 16GB and 32GB storage options. The 8GB iPhone 5C sports a 4-inch Retina display, an 8-megapixel camera, and an A6 processor.

This new smartphone does not seem to come with the bells and whistles typical in launch events of a lot of Apple devices. It is first spotted on the website of UK wireless carrier O2, as well as in several of Apple web stores in European markets.

The price slash probably reflects on how Apple is pushing the iPhone 5C–which has suffered from lack of support in the United States–into markets where the most popular smartphones do not cost an arm and a leg.

The O2 website states that the 8GB iPhone 5C is priced “at least 50 pounds ($83) cheaper than the 16GB variant,” depending on the contract. Meanwhile, Apple’s UK store lists the new 5C at 40 pounds cheaper ($67) than the 16GB, without contract.
