Just after the FAA released its new position on the use of personal electronic gadgets during flights, Amazon celebrates by offering 15% discounts on its Kindle e-readers and tablets.

The one-day-only promotion, which ends on midnight of November 4 (US Pacific time), offers Kindle discounts using the promo code “ThnksFAA” upon checkout. The promo sells the Kindle e-reader for $59, the Kindle Fire HD for $118, and the Kindle Fire HDX for $195.

“We’ve been fighting for our customers on this issue for years, and we are thrilled by the FAA’s recent decision — this is a big win for customers,” Amazon Vice President Drew Herdener said in a press statement. “Delta and JetBlue have already started flights with the new rules — we’re excited to see which airlines are next.”

Note that the offer is only available in the United States, and only applies on online purchase and not on products sold on other retailers.
