Amazon Claims New Kindle "Fastest-Selling Ever"

Amazon announces that their new-generation Kindle is being shipped as we speak, two days ahead of the reported release date. The company even claims that more units of these Kindles were ordered during the first four weeks of pre-ordering compared to other Kindle models in the same time period, making the new Kindle the fastest-selling in this bunch of e-book readers.

The reason why people get excited about the new Kindle is the improved features, such as better contrast, faster page turns, lighter weight, WiFi access, and longer battery life.

Kindle also offers the largest selection of book titles, with more then 670,000 books in the United States store alone, majority of which costs below US$10. Users can also gain access to over 1.8 million free book titles that were published before 1921. The device also lets you read the downloaded book on a variety of readers like the iPad, iPod Touch, iPhone, BlackBerry, Android, and even other Kindle versions.

The New Kindle by Amazon is available for only $139, while the new Kindle 3G costs $189.
