Sony and Best Buy team up in developing and launching a brand new line of audio equipment called "ALTUS." This product line provides wireless and easy solutions in experiencing premium audio throughout the home with its music systems, speakers, and home theater products.
Headlining the ALTUS line are two docking systems for iPod and iPhone that are designed to enhance and expand your listening experience around the house. The premium ALT-SA31iR multi-room package (pictured) consists of a docking station and two high-output wireless speakers, while the AIR-SW10Ti docking system also includes a concealable wireless subwoofer.
The former also features an AM/ FM tuner and S-AIR remote commander with LCD display, where users are able to browse through all metadata of the streaming audio such as album title, artist, and track information. This system can also transmit audio to all other S-AIR compatible receivers, spreading your favorite music to more rooms.
Meanwhile, the AIR-SW10Ti has a maximum output of 60 watts RMS and also features an infrared remote commander and FM tuner capabilities. Like the ALT-SA31iR, this system can transmit wireless audio to compatible products.
The ALT-SA31iR system is expected to retail at around US$700, while the AIR-SA10Ti will cost around US$400. These units are now available for pre-order on Sony’s online store and will be available at Best Buy locations and select retail partners across United States beginning September 2009.
