Acer launches a Chromebook it claims to be better than your Chromebook. The 11.6-inch Acer C270 Chromebook packs a fourth-generation Intel Core i3 processor, the same one available in more powerful laptops.
Ordinary Chromebooks used mobile processors such as those from Samsung or the Intel Atom line, making Acer the first company to unveil a Chromebook with a new line of “high-performance” chips. This enables the Acer C270 Chromebook to address the problem commonly encountered among similar computers: the lack of a multitasking ability. Users of the C270 need not worry about their Chromebook slowing down even with several browser tabs open.
With the Haswell processor, this Chromebook can handle multiple tasks while providing a decent battery life–in this case, up to 8.5 hours. Also, booting up the laptop only takes seven seconds.
And like other Chromebooks, the Acer C270 is relies its storage on the cloud, but theirs has 32GB instead of the 16GB seen on similar laptops. It also has USB 3.0 and USB 2.0 ports, as well as HDMI.
The Acer C270 Chromebook comes in two versions (with 2GB or 4GB of RAM), which are priced at $349.99 and $379.99, respectively.
