Ford is not allowing the misery and disaster in Detroit stop it from showing to the world it can compete with import manufacturers. It is, in fact, challenging one of the biggest Japanese brands in what could turn out to be a real battle for the title to boast in the mid-sized hybrid sedan market. Ford’s front liner in this category is the 2010 Fusion Hybrid sedan.
The 2010 Ford Fusion Hybrid is taking a direct aim at the current top player in the segment, the Toyota Camry. The technology used in this vehicle is similar to the second-generation system tucked into the Escape Hybrid, making the 2010 Fusion Hybrid sedan the most fuel-efficient compact SUV on earth. Like other hybrid cars, its system uses a "smart" climate control system, an upgraded nickel-metal hydride battery, and regenerative braking.
Basic features such as automatic headlights, dual-zone climate control, power windows, traction control, capless refueling, ABS ,and keyless entry, locks, and mirrors are standard equipment. The 2010 Ford Fusion Hybrid also comes with an eco-responsible seats, 6-speaker stereo, 17-inch wheels, a reverse sensor, and traction control. At a $27,270 base price, it is $1000 more expensive than the Toyota Camry Hybrid.
